Solarroof, a seasoned regional installer with over fifteen years of experience, became Sabbe’s entry point into the solar sector. The takeover, executed through a new holding company, was the first step in a buy-and-build vision focused on quality, scale, and sustainability.
A year later, in 2023, Solarroof merged with Solar Constructs to form Team Green. Both companies kept their local presence while combining purchasing power, systems, and sales capacity. The result: a stronger, more efficient player ready for growth.
By early 2024, Team Green joined ADW Eco Technics, a Waterland-backed group bringing capital, expertise, and broader technical depth. Together they now deliver integrated solutions across solar panels, batteries, and EV charging — shaping a true Benelux platform for residential and SME clients.
Sabbe’s plan was simple but effective:
start with a credible local asset, unite with a peer of similar size, then formalise a professional platform attractive to institutional investors.
By early 2024, the combined group reported about €80 million in revenue and more than 200 employees, showing how fast professional consolidation is reshaping the renewable energy market.
Ventures4Growth acted as buy-side advisor for the Solarroof acquisition — from sector mapping and target screening to valuation framing and deal execution.
The firm’s structured approach helped build the foundation for a future-ready platform, setting up the later merger with Solar Constructs and partnership with Waterland.
